Hampton House is the community clubhouse and the center for social activities. Hampton House offers an optional membership to all homeowners that includes an Olympic-sized swimming pool, lighted rubico tennis courts, state of the art work out equipment, and much more. Adjacent to Hampton Cove, the Hays Nature Preserve encompasses 538 acres of wooded timberland with the Flint River flowing through it. The equestrian center is conveniently located within 1 mile of the community and offers boarding and riding lessons. The barn includes a hospitality room, large tack lockers, hot/cold wash racks, and lighted grooming stalls.

The Land Trust of Huntsville & North Alabama is a not-for-profit organization whose sole purpose is to protect North Alabama natural lands and scenic areas. Incorporated in 1987 as Alabama’s first land trust, almost 4,000 acres have been protected. They maintain three major mountain preserves and almost 20 miles of local trails for public use.

Lake Guntersville is located just 20 minutes South of Hampton Cove on HW431 and is one of the largest lakes in Alabama. It offers a wide variety of water sports and family activities such as fishing, hiking, camping, and water skiing. The lake is one of many created as part of Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) projects along the Tennessee River. Hundreds of public boat ramps and several large marinas are located within easy driving distances.

Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail

Built on 630 prime acres, the Hampton Cove Golf Course is surrounded by tall oak, pine and maple trees, majestic green mountains and meandering lakes and offers some of the most attractive golf scenery in Alabama. Designed by golf architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr., the 54-hole championship golf course offers options for golfers at any skill level by offering up to five separate tees per hole. All greens are to USGA specifications with Pencross Bent grass on the Highlands Course and Short Course and Tift Dwarf Bermuda on the River Course. The clubhouse at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course features a specially designed pro shop, dining room, bar, and meeting rooms offering a panoramic view of Hampton Cove. The full-service restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, after-hours meals, and catering is available for special functions. The rear veranda offers a full wet bar and an outdoor grill.

Hampton Cove is home to three RTJ courses.

Highlands Course: Nestled in a natural cove, this course offers the challenge and scenery of traditional Scottish links. In addition to the beautiful landscaping, the old mule barn by the 5th hole is one of the special features of this course.

River Course: What was once a soybean field in the flood plain of the Flint River now hosts the only course on the Robert Trent Jones Golf trails without any bunkers.

Short Course: This challenging Par 3 course can be played in a couple of hours. This unique feature is flexible to accommodate both beginner and expert golfers.
